Cancel button no longer works in Prescan

Silverfast Ai Studio 6.6.2r2 for Microtek i900 running on OS X 10.6.4

I cannot say when the change took place, probably either with a Silverfast version update or possibly that of the O/S from 10.5.x to 10.6 however I regret that the Cancel button no longer functions in Prescan mode. Neither does pressing Cmd + “.” as mentioned elsewhere on this forum. Originally, if pre-scanning something small such as a business card, as soon as the entire card was seen on the screen, the Cancel button could be pressed and prescanning stopped allowing one to move immediately to Scan. Now, the scanner must prescan the entire 14 inches of mostly blank space before one can go to Scan mode. Is this something with which we must live or is it a quirk unique to my system? If the latter, is there a fix?
Thank you.

Dear Luzzano II ,

it is possible the functionality of the cancel button had to be adapted due to stability reasons.
It is also possible the function was changed in the scannerdriver and is no longer available.

I will forward you request to our test-center.

kind regards,
