scan skewed 10degrees

I have been scanning x-rays(5 1/2 x 11) with an Epson 4990 scanner and Ai version 6.6, and the following problem occurs: the preview scan looks great, but when I scan the image, it is skewed approximately 10 degrees clockwise. The software that initiates the scan is Image 4.5 in Dentrix 11.0(dental software). Any help would be appreciated.

Dear DentalHealth,
this sounds like someone "played" with your settings in the native SIlverFast Software.

May enter the SF Software via the Universal Launcher or with another TWAIN-driven Software, so you get the real SF Interface.

Then reset the Frame ( i expect there is a scan Frame that is rotated 10 degrees ).

OR ( maybe easier for you ) you start the Universal Launcher and select the "Service Dialog" Button ( little Tool Icon ) and delete the Preferences then.

After these actions the images shouldn't be rotated anymore !

Best regards,

Thank you for your quick reply. I intiated the software from the launcher and made sure that the default settings were in place; still came back with a skewed scan. I assumed from that that the dental software was at fault, so I scanned the image into Photoshop Elements, and, voila, a perfect result. I saved the image as a jpeg and put it in a picture directory. I then imported the image from that directory into the dental software and got a correct image. This seems clunky, but it works and will save me a lot of time (and not a few gray hairs). Again, your help was much appreciated. Bill Turner
