Silverfast SE - Can't Scan 35mm Slides

I'm trying to scan 35mm slides on an Epson V700. When I launch Silverfast SE (v6.4.4r6) and click on the General tab, my interface only has three choices... "Device", "Scan Mode" and "Pos./Neg.". It's missing "Original", which is where you can select either Reflective or Transparency. I've watched the videos and I see that it's supposed to be there, but for some reason it's missing. Has anybody out there had this problem?

Greg

Dear Greg,

Probably your transparency unit is not properly connected to the main unit, please close SilverFast and turn your scanner off.
Then check the cable connecting both units, if necessary, please disconnect the cable and reconnect it making sure you do not damage the contacts.

You can now proceed to erase the preferences folder to reset SilverFast back to the factory settings.

This must be done while SilverFast is still closed.

Please navigate to the following folder:

Windows XP
c:/documents and settings/your user name/application data/

MAC OS X

Mac HD/users/your user name/Library/Preferences

Once you are there, please delete the folder named "LaserSoft Imaging"

You can now reconnect your scanner to the computer and restart SilverFast.

The menu you have bee missing should now be available.

Have a nice day

Hello, I've followed instructions for mac users for removing preferences in the users library folder - deleted folder called lasersoft... this is still not working. Could you please help!
