Doesn't close automatically after each scan

I've just started working at a new job and they've been having an issue with SilverFast AI 6.2.1r1 because it doesn't close automatically after each scan. It seems like there's a bug. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Dear Laura,
only the Twain and Photoshop plugins close automatically after a single scan to the host application (e.g. Photoshop). It is a feature that the SilverFast plugins may be advised to reopen after a scan (chosen in the Option's "General" panel).
If you are running a Standalone version of SilverFast, or if you scan to file from a Plugin version, then it will never close automatically.
Best regards

Martin,
Thanks for your response. I am accessing SilverFast through Imports in Photoshop so if I understand what you're saying it should close automatically. Is that right?

So because I am using Silver Fast through Photoshop and it's supposed to close automatically after each scan and it doesn't, then there's something wrong with my Silver Fast. And my question is, what can I do to fix it?

i thought there was an option in the general section that controlled the behavior - is this not true anymore ?

Yes, Under the "General" tab there is a selection for Scan Mode and the "Normal" option is what I've selected and that is supposed to scan and then close automatically. It works on the Microtek i900 scanner, but it doesn't work on the Microtek 9800xl scanner.

Martin,
I have two Microtek scanners hooked up to one computer, each runs on a different version of Silver Fast. Since one version works fine and the other doesn't, is there a way that I can just use the 6.4 version (or download the latest updates) to run both scanners from the same computer?

Are they both on the same USB bus ?
If so, try unplugging the one that doesn't work, reboot , and try SF.
Just a thought.
