LaserSoft Imaging

I just purchased Ai + IT8 disk version. The version I installed was 6.4.3r6. Checking for updates I find that the latest version is V6.4.3r8. Can I install the update over the current installation or do I have to uninstall the current version on my system. It ticks me off that I spent the extra money for an out of date disk. Lasersoft should furnish me with a current disk. More importantly, is there enough of of a change to warrant the latest update?
BTW I notice that Lasersoft occasionally interchages 'update' and 'upgrade' making the various paths difficult to follow.

I'm certain LaserSoft sent you the most up to date version available at the time of your purchase Vs delaying your shipment while waiting for an update. I understand your frustration, but at least the updates are free of charge, right?

In my experience the update installer will remove the previous version as part of the installation, so you should not have to manually un-install. There is a web update function in SilverFast that allows you to check for and install updates in addition to the updates being available for download via this web site.

Thanks Rag. I used the update function and admittedly it was painless. The update process automatically removed or partially removed the current program.
