LaserSoft Imaging

I recieved Silverfast Ai 6 with an Epson 10000xl photo. When I left click on the SF desktop icon the program starts to launch and brings up the Silverfast window and then abruptly disappears.

The same thing happens when I try to launch from Photoshop CS except that it instantly closes Photoshop as well.

SF seems like a nice program and I'd like to learn to use it, I hope somebody can help.

By the way, I emailed Lasersoft support about this problem but I haven't heard anything after several weeks. Is this typical?
