Silverfast SE versus Epson Software

I am using Silverfast SE 6.0.1r14 with an Epson Perfection 3200 Scanner: my Operating System is Windows XP Home.

(i)When I scan 35mm colour negatives, however I adjust the
colours of the scanned image, when I invert the image in
Photoshop it has the same pale blue colourcast which
NOTHING will move satisfactorily.

(ii)Using Epson's own software and ignoring Silverfast I
have no problems: firstly there is the option to see the
image in thumbnail form - a much simpler procedure:
secondly, the colours BEFORE editing are usually
excellent.

(iii)Where are the advantages of using Silverfast SE?

Dear Denis

thank you for your interest in LaserSoft Imaging's software products.
Please update to the most recent version which you will get via download from our website:
https://www.silverfast.com/sf-download/b ... roduct=328
This shall resolve your problem.

However, if it does not, please don't hesitate to let support know through the problem report form:
https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
Thanks in advance.

With SilverFast SE you get the advantages of an adjustable defect (SRD) and color noise (GANE) removal tools, a professional sharpening feature (USM), Negafix with optimised negative film material presets, as well as selective correction correction ability.
Detailed information about SE can be found here:
https://www.silverfast.com/show/silverfast-se/en.html

Often overlooked is the ability of SilverFast SE to produce HDR scans (kind of raw data scanning) for later use in SilverFast HDR/DCPro and the option to upgrade to Ai or SE plus.
