My system (win-xp, photoshop) freezed while scanning a film. I made a reboot and tried again. Now silverfast asks for the serial number. I typed in correctly, but it wasn't accepted. Then I de-installed silverfast and installed it again. The same.
Trying the demo-mode don't work. Silverfast crashes.
Do you have an answer. When I fixed this problem, I am able to look for my freezing-problem. Maybe, it seems to be necessary to install the photoshop-plugin and the twain-plugin, is this true?

Dear Reinhard Adomeit -
I like to help you, but I have to know

which scanner - which connection ( scsi - USB- FireWire ), which Photoshop and SilverFast version do you use.
regards
Christoph

Hi Christoph,
the film scanner is Reflekta Professional RPS 3600. It is connected via USB. At an other USB-port I have a flatbed scanner, this unit works fine. The problem with the film scanner was not from the beginning, maybe any other software disturbs the processing. But I thought, deinstalling and reinstalling would help, but it don't.
Best wishes, Reinhard

Dear Reinhard -
I am sorry - your problem seems to be a little bit complicated
Please send the SilverFast log file ( out of the SilverFast folder ) and a description of your problem to:

Hi,
the problem is fixed. There was no log-file, but a calibration....txt file in c:\. I found this file searching for the log-file. I tried to open it to see what it is. The windows-editor started and showed no contents but the waiting-symbol-cursor appears and don't vanish. I was unable to look into the file so I deleted it.
After that and a restart the Demo-Mode worked; Silverfast created a new calibration-file. Than I typed in the serial-number, and this time it was accepted by the system. Now all works fine.
Maybe this helps in similar cases.
Greetings, Reinhard
