Deleting old masks in SRD

How do I delete old SRD masks?
Each time I try to create a mask for a specific scan I get a message telling me that the name I gave the mask has been used before and I need to use a different name. Having to come up with unique mask names is a waste of time, especially when I have thousands of scans in my workflow.
Thanks in advance,

Dear customer,
In a current
SilverFast 8 version you will find a trash bin symbol to the left and above the list of masks.
In older versions you click and hold the mask drawing tool.
A list of options will appear including an entry to delete masks.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Hi Arne,
I am using Silverfish AI 8.8. The trashcan symbol in my version is on the right, not on the left as you mention. Clicking on it does not delete the old masks that I have made since installing the software. To keep masks from permanent storage, is it necessary to delete each one after scanning and before beginning another batch of scans? Please see the attached screen shot so you know what I'm looking at (trashcan on right, no option to delete old masks.)
Thanks for your help,
Derek

Dear Derek,
Yes, I mistyped there. sorry.
Are you using the latest update(8.8.0r3 right now)?
I have tested this and could not reproduce your issue.
Only currently active frames are not allowed to use the same name for a mask.
As soon as I deleted a frame I could use the mask name again for a new mask.
Have you tried resetting SilverFast through the welcome screen's service dialog?
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
