Problems editing ICC profiles for printer calibration

I have SilverFast SE Plus 8.8 with the printer calibration feature. My scanner is an Epson 4870 Photo. I am using Windows 10. I have calibrated the scanner with one of your calibration charts. I created an ICC profile using a printout from my printer generated by the SilverFast software. The problems arose when I tried to use the profile editor. My photo had a purplish/magenta cast, so I decided to make some adjustments. I followed the instructions in the manual, and arrived at an adjustment of 0-2-3 for highlights, midtones, and shadows. The sample photo printed out from the profile editor looked good, so I tried to save the profile. Here is where the trouble began.
The new file had the word "color" inserted before the profile's name and the word "edited" added at the end. I tried to save the file, but received this message: "c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color1430 Claria Arista II Photogrd Lstr edited.icc You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to store in the David folder instead?"
I thought that I could solve this by clicking on the "color" file that was visible in the right side of the save dialog box and saving the file where icc files belong. However, this did not work. Although I could select the profile in Photoshop under "Edit" "Assign Profile" and see a change in the image displayed on screen, Photoshop would not let me print using this profile.
When I went to Print, I selected the icc profile under "Printer Profile" in the print dialog box. I received the following message: "No color management is not supported. It appears you are attempting to print without color management. This method of printing from Photoshop is not supported. Please use Adobe Color Printer Utility if you need to print with no color management."
I thought that perhaps the problem was with the number of characters, so I went back and recreated the edited profile and changed the name, again placing it in the proper folder for icc files. I had the same result.
I also restarted the computer along the way, just to see if it made any difference. It did not.
Shouldn't the edited profile just work when selected in Photoshop? Any idea of what is going on here?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
