Problem with the final scan

Hi everybody,

I am new with this forum, software and film scanning in general so I hope I'm writing in the right subforum. So, last night I purchase the SE version license of Silverfast 8.8 and I tried to scan, for the first time in my life, some 6x6 bnw negatives i shot with my Hassy in last few days. The prescan is surprisingly good than I make all the adjustments but, when I arrive at the final step, the final scan, the file I get is again the negative and not the beautiful, positive image i see on screen. Why? Is that normal? I don't think so!
The same problem happens both in manual and "workflow pilot" mode.
I am using Silverfast SE 8.8 with my girlfriend scanner, CanoScan 9000f Mark II, nothing fancy but is just a test before buying more sophisticated tools and software versions.

I hope i did not bother you and that everything is clear despite my mediocre english!

best regards,

Gerardo Moscariello

Dear Mr Moscariello,

Please check the output bit depth. Is it maybe set tho one of the HDR(i) RAW formats?
These are unchanged archive formats for later processing in SilverFast HDR (Studio).
Try using the 48->24 Bit setting instead.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
