LaserSoft Imaging

I just got my scanner two days ago, and I cannot get any aspect of my Silverfast 8 AI studio to work with my Opticfilm 8200i. My 35mm slides are perfect, but I cannot get a decent scanned image. The prescan is usually dark and red. In the rare instance where the prescan turns out ok, adjusting the frame to fit the image will revert the image back to dark and red. I have spent two days trying to figure out what to do and I have not been able to obtain a scan that is anywhere near acceptable. I have searched the plustek and silverfast documentation, but nothing is helpful.

Dear customer,

Please make sure that the red scanframe sits tightly around the image content.
Unexposed film material or parts of the holder inside it can cause such effects because they disturb the histogram.
