Image-Auto-Adjust, and Job Manager

I've been scanning alot of old black & white 35mm negatives using a Epson 2450. Some of the pictures are under/overexposed. I sometimes use the Image Automatic to quickly compensate for the exposure. Sometimes the effect is undesirable so I want to undo it. The manual, page 88, says to reset the auto-adjust just Alt-click on the aperature icon. That only seems to toggle back and forth between bad and worse. I wanted to revert the image back to its original exposure. I can get around this by just playing with the historgram manually but it is annoying.

Once I have the exposures done I add all of the frames I want to the Job Manager, start the scan, and take a break. When I import the pictures into iPhoto they all have the original exposures without any of the compensation. What's going on?

Dear David,
the Alt- click-on-exposure-icon key combination is activating and undoing the auto correction for the active frame. You can see it by the colour of the two icons right of the exposure icon. They are red when auto-correction is active and normal (as all other icons) when auto-correction is undone.

This is all it does.
If the auto-correction does NOT render a perfect exposure, you can manually correct it (as you described). Unfortunately SilverFast has no human intelligence, and we cannot guarrantee perfect settings in all cases by hitting that auto-correction. That is why SilverFast features manual intervention.
When you want to apply frame settings to all images in your job. you should save your exposure settings BEFORE you open the SilverFast JobManager.
2nd when you open the JM you are prompted to define a default for all frames.
Here you should select your saved frame.
