Silverfast Errors

I getting two errors quite frequently which appear to follow one another which are:
1. After previewing negatives on an Epson 750 - "Error 6025 Pure Virtual Function call", then after closing and reopening Silverfast
2. "There is a problem starting your scanner. Please make sure your drivers are installed correctly. Exiting now"

If I look at the drivers according to windows they are fine. If I reboot the PC, the problem nearly always clears.

What could be causing the errors? What action should I take?

Dear Viking,

SilverFast uses C++.
Maybe one of it's components was not updated correctly or overwritten by another software.
Also make sure your system is up-to-date.

Please try switching of your scanner and rebooting your system.
Then uninstall SilverFast.
And then directly reinstall the latest SilverFast update from our website.
(Our "updates" are always full installation files.)

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Tried several approaches including:

1. Switching scanner off and on again. Result: Does not seem to make any difference
2. Tried switching PC off and rebooting. Result: Sometimes but not always clears the problem.

Have uninstalled Epson Scan and Silverfast, then reinstalled Epson Scan only. About 12 frames of negatives scanned on Epson Scan without problem.

Will try to install latest version of Silverfast shortly.

I think the problem may be linked to temporary files saved and shared by Silverfast and Epson Scan. Reason: Once the problem became evident on Silverfast, it manifested itself with Epson scan too.

Question: Is there any way to clear or delete temporary files to see what difference it makes?

Dear customer,

That sounds like an issue regarding the driver.
SilverFast and EPSON Scan use the same driver files.
The driver does have cache files for storing the scan before it is handed over to an application.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?
