Files not reloaded in HDR8

New to Silverfast I am encountering newbie problems, of course. Perhaps these two are one of them and might even be related.

Scanned a negative in SilverfastAI8 as HDR16bit. Then open the tif file in HDR8. It shows but strangely when opening it again the scanned image is replaced by seemingly a test image of a windmill. The only way to have my scan reappear is to quit HDR and start at again. Opening different images works well, opening whatever image twice always presents the mill. Why is it impossible to reopen an image file?
[System Macintosh OSX 10.8]

Dear customer,

SilverFast can not open an image twice.
But you can process it twice.
Simply chose "Duplicate" from the frame menu.
This will create a copy of the current frame.
The image (or better it's two frames) will then be visible twice in the JobManager and each entry can be processed in a different way.
You can of cause also create more than two frames and have them scan different areas of the image as needed.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
