LaserSoft Imaging

I have a Plustek 8200i AI optic film and Silverfast 8.0.1.r26. I press Prescan and the image appear. My zoom is at 100%, I change to smaller. The system asks me to prescan again, and I have a smaller window. I chose now Gaine or ISRD, the system scan again and my zoom is again at 100%. Why the zoom change must imply a new scan?
My negative are 100% condition. I scan Quality 10x15, photo quality 300dpi. The result is very disappointing. So much grain and noise. I am so disappointed.
When powering the pc and opening Silverfast, the system always shows the previous scaned picture of say the day before. I scan 10 pictures now, and he still shows the picture of the day before plus the one I scaned just now. what is the problem? I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, the picture is still there.
Why is it when we save the pictures it does not clear the board?
What is the step by step procedure to start a scan, adjust Gaine, ISDR or other and then save?
I am a user with medium to good knowledge with various software such as pinnacle studio, cyberlink powerdirector, photoshop and photo elements. Silverfast id a very challenging software to understand, and the documentation going with it is incomplete.
I will wait your answers and hope to be able to become satisfied with your product.

A rescan is necessary whenever SilverFast does not have an image at the required resolution available.

SilverFast opens like you close it.
This enables you to stop and continue working as you like.

Also SilverFast does not reset after a scan so it is possible to continue working on an image if necessary.
The preview is only reset by doing a new prescan.

These are features required for the professional workflows SilverFast offers.

At the top of SilverFast you will find the WorkflowPilot.
It allows you to learn the necessary steps and the best sequence for adjusting the tools.
The standard workflow would be "edit" and guides you through all steps.
You can skip unnecessary steps.
It will give you a good guidance on how the features are used.

I am a novice at scanning but have purchased my 8200i to scan all my slides (approx 500) so that I can view them on digital media e.g TV and tablet. I need to know the best general setting for speed and quality. while I understand I can adjust an individual slide my main aim is to get the job done as quickly as possible. Can someone assist me with best settings as the quick manual doesn't explain the reasons for using a particular setting e.g slide vs kodachrome or colour vs colour intensity. After spending a few hours I have found a good quality result using active workflow pilot, kodachrome, 1800dpi, colour intensity but it is very slow

The main influence on the time necessary to scan an image is the resolution.

The best way to determine the best resolution is to try different ones and try the images on the devices you want to display them on.

An image viewer set to 100% can also give you a good impression on how big an image really is.
