Pixillion?

Every time I do a scan Pixillion pops up for a few seconds. I did not install this software (to my knowledge). Now it is asking me to pay $25 to continue using it. If I uninstall it I get a really low quality image and a message from Pixillion pops up asking me to reinstall it and pay up.

What gives? Do I need this to get a decent result from Silverfast? And if so why did they not tell me I would have to pay an extra $25 to get a result?

Anyone else got experience with this?

Dear customer,

This software is not part of the SilverFast software and is not produced by LaserSoft Imaging AG.
It is of cause not required for using SilverFast.

The software is probably linked to one or more image types.
So when SilverFast tries to open an image after scan the operating system tries to use this software.
You can set the file type presets manually in your OS.
The easiest way to change this is by opening such a file (e.g. .jpg, .tiff) with the "open with" selection from the right-click context menu.
In that dialog you can select a different software and choose to "always open this file type" using this new selection.
(The exact description used for this depends on the OS you are using)

Kind regards,
