Scan Failure

Good evening,
I have just updated to the lastest version today.
Now, when attempting a scan, the process reaches 9% exactly (every time,) then finishes with the description 'cancelled'. No matter if a negative or a slide.
The PC has been restarted, as has the scanner and no matter what, the scan fails at exactly the same point.
The system is Windows 7 (64bit) with a Plustek Opticfilm 7600i which has run with no previous problems.
Any suggestions?
