Hello,
I have only to scan old Kodachrome slides.
I'm looking for a suitable Color Calibration Kodachrome Slide (IT-8).
I have heard that the Silverfast calibration slide is more suitable for Kodachrome 64 while the original Kodak calibration slide was more suitable for old kodachrome slides.
Do you confirm this slight difference between K64 and old kodachrome ?
It is now difficult (or impossible) to find a Kodak slide, what is the best solution :
1) Can Silverfast provide target "more" suitable for old kodachrome slides ?
2) if not, if I use a standard Silverfast kodachrome calibration slide, is there a systematic post correction to apply in order to retreive the original old Kodachrome colors ?

Dear Jean-Michel,

SilverFast only offers one Kodachrome calibration target.
Unfortunately I can not say how it differs from the Kodach target because I do not know which film material Kodak used.

The SilverFast Target can be used for all Kodachrome scanning.
The blue colorcast this filmtype shows can vary due to individual filmtype, age and storage.
So there always can be some variance here.

SilverFast offers various tools to correct a remaining colorcast.
The image auto adjustment offers various modes (click and hold the button for about a second in SF8).
There are special modes to remove colorcasts in highlights, shadows and the complete range.



A cast can also be easily removed using the "neutral" Pipette.


Use the "Neutral Tool" to click on an area which should be neutral(gray).
