Hi normis,

There is a profile called "standard" you might want to start using that profile and then using the sliders present in the NegaFix dialogue to make an adjustment that allows you to obtain a relatively close result to what you expect.
Regularly films from the same manufacturer have similar profiles, you might also start using one profile from the same manufacturer and then adjust until you get the satisfactory results.

Cheers

Normis,

Short of Lasersoft providing a NegaFix profile for Portra 400, have you tried the different options under Image Type in the Frame panel?

I usually start at Standard, then adjust as needed. For portrait work, Skin Tones provides a good starting point. For sunsets/sunrises I begin with Gold Tones. Try those in conjunction with using the Brightness and Contrast sliders and see if it doesn't help some. The other suggestion is to make sure you have Color Cast Removal set to at least 20%. Setting it to 100% is overkill and, in some cases, it can introduce a cast of the complimentary color.

Hope this helps.

Tim
