Creating simplified Negafix curves

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a way to add or remove control points from Negafix curves?

I'd like to create a starting point profile like the <linear> curve but with three control points rather than one. The regular curves have too many points and color shifts for me to edit quickly or cleanly.

We scan a vast assortment of negs from different photographers, all shot and processed differently. This makes the canned Negafix "profiles" rather unsuitable since the variation in any given film/exposure/push/pull can seriously effect the overall response of a film type. In order to compensate I generally use the <Linear> curve to quickly adjust the gamma and film mask before fine tuning the compression.

This works okay though I'd like to have a little more control but not so much complexity that I have to fiddle for an hour to get things where they ought to be.

Thanks

NegaFix Curves & Reduction of Curve Points

Dear User,

we will look into your proposal and see how we can come up with a way to reduce curve points for editing.

Dear Alec,

the coming 655r6 version of SilverFast will contain the possibility to edit Negafix curves by inserting and deleting points, so that Negafix profiles will be more flexible and easy to adjust.

Best regards
Martin

Hello Team Silverfast,

I just wanted to say thanks for implementing the add/remove anchor feature for Negafix, I just downloaded 6.6r01 and it's working beautifully. The whole application seems a bit snappier as well. Fantastic!

Thanks again and keep up the good work,

Alec
