Problems creating full-scan negative contact sheets

I'm a new Silverfast Ai user, but experienced in Photoshop and scanning in general - so this might be an easy question.
I need to scan all 24 negative images at once in a clear negative sheet to form a "contact sheet" scan.
I set my selection marquee to a single negative image and I can create a wonderful set of curves with NegaFix - But when I extend my selection to the entire scan area to do a complete contact sheet the preview image dramatically changes to a very light and bluish cast.
The problem is that with the entire scan area I'm now scanning the clear negative page in addition to the negative. I've tried saving my curve settings, but that doesn't help.
How do I make contact sheets of clear negative sheets?
Additional specifics: Silverfast Ai V6.4.3r8 MacOSx on Mac450MHzG3 with 1GB RAM problem occurs when running standalone or aw Photoshop CS plugin,
After reading the documentation, I know that I'd like to change the ImageType (in Frame Tab) which is currently Standard -- since this controls the automatic image updating. I've tried the options settings (in General Tab) to deselect Realtime Correction. How do I make a custom curve setting "stick" ??
