LaserSoft Imaging

I've been trying to scan some Negatives with my Microtek ScanMaker 8700 using NegaFix and cannot get the color correct. I've set the film type, exposure, etc and auto-adjusted the scan and cannot get the color even close to what it should be.

Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help. I have downloaded the update and had no better success. I have filled out the support form and look forward to a reply.

I am using a Microtek 9800xlm; I also downloaded the latest update and my scans from color film (NPH) are pretty much useless.

I have spent two days trying to troubleshoot this and Negafix yields no decent results.

I have also read just about everything I can on this site or the web to try to fix the problem.

Should you find a solution, I would be very glad to hear about it.

I scan a lot of color negative film, including Fujipress 400, 120 NPH and 4x5 Kodak 160VC. I am getting great results from Negafix, but I only use the supplied profiles as a starting point to build my own in the "expert mode". I create over, under and normal profiles for each film that I use. Just shoot a bracket of someone with a graycard, standing in full sun. Adjust the curves to get the card to show neutral on the densitometer (the RGB channels all reading the same), and for the density and contrast to be to your liking.

I do the same thing. Or at least I did: until Silverfast broke after on of the resent upgrades: it doesn't allow me to save modified profile any more.
I must say, NikonScan software does a much better job of removing film mask; it's automatic colors are much closer to natural for most colkor negative films.
