Different versions of SF on same computer

Hi,

I have been using a Plustek OpticFilm 7500i scanner with SilverFast 6.x, with no major problems - now I received a Plustek 8100 for evaluation, which came with SilverFast 8.

So I currently have two DIFFERENT scanner models from the SAME manufacturer, which came with DIFFERENT versions of SilverFast.

Can you please confirm if I can go on and install SilverFast 8 on the same computer that has SilverFast 6 already installed, and be able to use both scanners?

yes, it is possible to install SilverFast 8 on the same computer and operating system where SilverFast 6 is installed. Although version 6 and version 8 might detect both scanners, you should use the one version intended for each scanner individually.

Also you should have only one scanner connected to the computer at a time. Having both scanners connected at the same time might cause a conflict, especially for SilverFast 6
