Scanner not found unless connected to the web

I upgraded my old version to 8 and installation went OK except the scanner (plustek 7200i) does not get found when the program starts unless I am connected to the web ?? As I don't have a permanent web connection is is very frustrating. I have sent details to support and are still waiting on a reply, so does anyone have any ideas

An internet connection is not required for using SilverFast.
The only thing during start-up which asks for the internet connection is the registration.
But that can be skipped.

Sorry this is not the case, unless I am connected to the internet the scanner is not found during starting SilverFast. I believe it has registered OK, but will not find the scanner if offline.

We have tested this and could not find any issues using a scanner offline.
The
Plustek was detected normally even with no Internet connection.
I have answered you through our support system and will close this thread because it is not a general issue.
