Nikon 9000 and HDR

I have Silverfast Studio AI for the Epson 700 and Nikon 9000 and recently purchased HDR.
It works with the Epson V700 if I ever figure it out.
It does not work with the Nikon 9000. No 64 bit there or infra red.
Do I have the right software, or is the 9000 at fault?
In the past I have found the 9000 gives me much better scans than the 700 (35mm). How do the scanners compare with Silverfast and HDR if I figure it out?
My end result is to do as many scans as possible quickly, with good quality, and upload to stock agencies. If I can't get Silverfast up to speed, I'll have to go to India.
Thanks, peter from Vermont

Yes, you do have the right software.
No, the 9000 is not at fault.
There is nothing wrong, the 64 bit HDRi mode is not available for the Nikon scanner under windows. It uses a closed driver where SilverFast does not have access to the infrared channel information. However this mode is available under mac. You can use the 48 bit HDR with Digital ICE on which will give you great quality.

Of course it has given you better scan quality (and it always will), it is a dedicated film scanner. A flatbed scanner will never deliver a similar quality as a dedicated film scanner does.
Cheers

Thanks for the info but I am using Mac G5s version 10.4.11. So I should have 64 bit on the Mac? Thanks, peter.

Dear Peter,
You should have that option on the Mac if you are using the latest version of SilverFast.
