Hello all,
I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8 and I have an Epson V700 and running Silverfast SE. I scanned several negatives in then updated Silverfast to 6.6.1r3. Once I saw the watermark, I re-registered. It worked once. The next scan the watermark came back. Is there a further step I can take solve this?
Thanks

Hi Theresa,
To be able to serialize SilverFast, you have to start your computer session using an admin account, then introduce the original installation CD in the computer drive (you do not have to install anything from that CD).
Once the computer has recognized the CD you will start SilverFast, when the activation windows comes, please fill out the input fields with the requested information and press "activate SilverFast".
That should do it.
Cheers

Dear alan
Please try creating an new admin account on your mac with root user active, then restart the computer using that new account, insert the original SilverFast installation cd in your computer (do not install anything from the CD but leave it in the computer drive). Now restart SilverFast and perform the serialization.

Re: Can't get rid of watermark - Yes, I have registered
This issue just bit me after restoring my machine via Time Machine backup.
I've deleted preferences and reinstalled/reactivated with the CD in using an Admin account. Each time I launch SF I'm asked to register, although everything including the serial number is already filled in.
The odd thing now is that I can scan individual frames with no watermark, but if I batch scan each image is watermarked. Any ideas?
Version 6.6.2r3a on OS X 10.6.4
Thanks.

Dear Alan,
your user's access rights have not been transferred correctly through time machine.
Please try serializing from the root account:
Sometimes OSX updates, user transferes through timemachine, etc damage the user rights beyond repair.
I this case the serial number file can only be repaired through the root account.
-Activate your root user.
-log out off your normal account and back in as root.
-open the SF_Launcher.
-open the Service dialog. (small hammer/wrench icon appearing next to the start button when moving the mouse over it.)
-select delete serial number file from the service dialog.
-continue and close SilverFast.
-reenter your serial information.
-Do this for each of your SilverFast versions.
-log out of the root again.
-log back into your normal account and test SilverFast.
If everything works all right it is suggested to deactivate the root again.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
