Problems with installing SilverFast

Status Vista 64 CS 64

All the threads associated with this topic have been locked by SF, so I'll start a new one.

What is the status of SF for Vista 64 with CS4 64?

One last post stated in March that an Aplpha was doing well, and that we would be told when it was available (either as a beta or GA)

Where is it?

Dear Celliottuk,

SilverFast is not yet working with Photoshop CS4 64 bits for windows.

I suggest you subscribe to our newsletter so you will get news about SilverFast directly on your mail box, as soon as we have compatible version we will inform about it through our newsletter.

In the meantime you can work with SilverFast using the standalone application and then opening the scanned pictures in photoshop for edition afterwards.

In order to use SilverFast Ai standalone on Windows7 64 bit, I tried to instal it.

It fails with the error that the application installs only under a x86 environment.

Is there a trick to instal it ?

Dear pdewilde,

SilverFast is not yet officially supported under Windows 7 (on either systems 32 nor 64) but you might want to try downloading and installing the latest demo version avaliable of SilverFast which corrected this problem on vista 64 it might work for your either.

Dear Customer,

you have not specified the Scanner you want to run on Windows 7 but we do acutally
support most Scanners if they have a driver for Windows 7 (some even if they don't).
Here is a list of all the Scanner we have tested sucessfully:
