Silverfast 4.0 came bundled with my Epson scanner. I want to upgrade to 5.5, but cannot find my serial number. It is not on my CD, or the CD jacket (even tho I read somewhere that it is on the back), I cannot find it on my currently installed program. Can anyone tell me where it is?

Thanks...

Locating Serial-Number in SilverFast

Click onto the "i" button, the very top one in the vertical tool bar and click on credits and you will see the serial-number.

Unless there is a different policy for your scanner and bundled software, you can't upgrade to v5.5 for less than "full" price.

I know that I've mentioned this numerous times here, only because it amazed me how uninformed LSI people are!

Epson 2450 comes bundled with SF/SE, although it's been posted here and I was told over the phone also, you "can't" upgrade their software unless you purchased it from LSI!!

Upgrade policy re-explained

Although already explained in the past and understood by the majority of customers here again:

SilverFast SE versions

1. SilverFast SE versions that came bundled with a scanner cannot upgrade for a reduced price.
2. SilverFast SE versions that have been purchased separately deserve the reduced price upgrade!

SilverFast Ai / HDR / PhotoCD versions

1. All SilverFast full V5 can upgrade for 45 $ only to versions 5.5
2. All other SilverFast full versions can check the individual upgrade price in the SilverFast Store section of our web site.

That should remove the fog from the minds! If you have an individual complaint, don't post it here! Send an email directly to me and I will personally take care of your problem!

regards
Karl-Heinz Zahorsky, CEO

President_LSI:

If your "don't post here" was aimed at me? Let me state one last thing and I won't mention it again here!

I did exactly what you asking. I emailed you directly about the mixup of upgrading from bundled SE to Ai that I incountered at your Florida office. I didn't receive an answer.
