New serial number won't work

I was using a downloaded version of Silverfast SE 6.4 and decided to upgrade Silverfast SE Plus 6.5 (Mac OS 10.4). When I installed it from a disc and entered the new serial number from the packaging, it said the serial number was wrong. Tech support first suggested I use demo mode to "see the enhancements and stunning new features" and is now unresponsive. I used info from this forum to delete the old serial info, but it did not help. I need to use my scanner and regret changing anything without knowing that tech support might take 24 hrs. for each email exchange. Does anyone have any suggestions to get me running again?

dwhitebread,
I'm not clear, did you purchase an upgrade and get a new license or are you using the license that came with SE 6.4?

This was a new disk and serial number for an official factory upgrade from SilverFast. I don't know if that qualifies as a new license, but it should have been a simlple upgrade installation with the new serial to unlock the Plus features.
Thanks,
Don

All's well. I finally called the corp. number in Florida and in 2 minutes the woman there determined that I had the wrong serial number and gave me a new one that works fine. She was great, but I can't imagine how long it would have taken to figure this out through the tech support.
