Dear Hassiman and aikbreeze,
In response to you, I am quoting the message from my colleague Mr. Noack:

does this mean that SilverFast isn't listed in Photoshop's file>import-menu?
If so, you correct this manually. Please create an alias to the SilverFast Photoshop plugin and put this in your Photoshop's Import-Export folder yourself.
The detailed description:
(1) Open your Finder / hard disk drive
(2) Navigate to /Applications/SilverFast Application
(3) Locate the Photoshop plug-in (an .8ba) file, probably in the sub folder "SilverFast (Scannername)"
(4) Create an alias to the plug-in there
An alias can be created by selecting the file and then choosing "Make alias" from the finder's "File" menu.
(5) Select the newly created alias and select "Copy" from the "Edit" menu
(6) Change to the folder /Applications/Photoshop/Plug-ins/Import-Export/
(7) Select "Paste" from the finder's "Edit" menu
This action should have created a shortcut in the import/export folder of Photoshop to the SilverFast Photoshop plug-in located in the SilverFast programme folder.
Restart Photoshop and check your File>Import plug-in list.

Thank you in anticipation of your kind co-operation.

That is the way how you create and paste either a shortcut (win OS) or an alias (MAC OS) into the photoshop plugins (import export) folder.
I should also point out that SilverFast will be compatible with CS 3 from versin 6.5 onwards, previous versions of SilverFast will not be compatible with CS3.
Since Adobe changed the whole platform in CS3, we also had to redesign our plugins for CS3, however we should not forget about those who are still using previous versions of photoshop and still want to call SilverFast directly from their version of photoshop. That is the reason why some of you will find two different types of icons of SilverFast, one wihout the "CS3" written on it and the other one including it.
I would also like to mention that our developers team have created a new version of SilverFast for those users who are using Nikon Super CoolScan film Scanners (the small ones 40 ED, 50 ED, 4000 ED, 5000 ED) under Leopard.
This version is completely native, no need of installing the Nikon Maid Driver, which is not (and will not be) compatible with Leopard or future versions of the MAC OS.
I believe it is also important in this ocasion to mention that there are some customers who have been reporting about compatibility issues between SilverFast and Adobe Photoshop CS3. It is relevant to mention that even though there might be some problems, those are only related to users with new Macintosh computers and the operating system 10.5 (Leopard).
Appart from those reports, we have been trying to reproduce the mentioned problems on our testing labs, however, as hard as our colleagues have tried, they have not succeeded in their test.
Unfortunately under these conditions, our programmers are practically spending their time in guessing what could fail or on problematic points and trying different solutions.
Our entire development division is investing their time and efforts on solving this issue. With good luck and lots of work the problem might be solved in the next release of SilverFast (6.6.0r2).
In the meantime I would advice those users who are having problems related to this issue, to use SilverFast as a stand alone application.
We really appreciate your immense patience and cooperation.
I wish all of you a nice day!
Best regards
