Dear Sirs

Today I downloaded new Silverfast SE+ 6.5.0r4 stand alone for my Epson Perfection 4490 Photo and installed it on WinXP instead of 6.5.0r3d. And this new version definitely doesn't find the scanner. But the old version and native Epson software do it easily without any troubles! What is the reason?

...same thing with epson 4180 and xp home --> scanner not found.
problem exists since upgrading to 6.5.0 r4.

scanning with original epson drivers works!

Same problem here.. Just got a 4490 over the weekend and the Epson drivers work fine. But SilverFast says it can not find the scanner.

no answer from staff; not even one line "we realized there is a probleme with several scanners"...

shoddy support; lots of threads with no reaction from stuff here.

version 6.5.0r4a solved my problem scanner not found!
