Serial Code

I recently purchased a second hand Epson 4990 scanner which included SilverFast. I have installed SilverFast however when I attempt to activate it I am asked for a serial number - but I don't have one!!!! Or at least I was not advised of the number when I bought the scanner. So what do I do now? Help.

contact the person you bought it from for the CD and the serial number. Often is its printed on the case the CD is packaged in.

Looks like I will have to do without SilverFast - the person I bought the scanner from does not have the serial number either. There is a number on the front of the CD - [CPD-19054 followed by another string of numbers] - but does not seem to be the serial number, at least it does not activate the programme when I type it in. So, unless there is a generic serial number that I can use that will be the end of SilverFast for me. :cry: :cry: :cry:

Contact Sonny Noack (LSI Noack) or submit a problem report and see if they can do a cross reference on the original owner. You will likely need the person's name and email that registered the product originally. LSI has allowed for license transfer in the past.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately when I checked with the previous owner, he said he did not register the software.

Is there anywhere in Sydney Australia I could contact?

I am also based in Australia and have always dealt directly with LaserSoft in Kiel, Germany. They have always been very helpful and responsive to my queries. Unfortunately there is no Australian contact. Only the USA and Germany.
