"BatchPict.tif" error - can't start SilverFast

Hello,
I have a Mac PowerBook G4 running OSX 10.4.4. I just downloaded SilverFast SE for my Diamge Scan Dual IV. I installed it successfully and scanned two images. I clicked a button that brought up a dialog for scanning more than one frame (I cant double check what it's called at the moment as I can't get to that dialog) and the SilverFast application crashed. I relaunched the app and after I click Start, I get a dialog asking where to save a file called "BatchPict.tif." This causes an error telling me the file is corrupt. Each time I click Start, I get this error. My only option is Quit.
I have tried deleting all the SilverFast files including preferences and then reinstalling but I get the same message each time I try this.
Any advice?
Thank you,
John
