"BatchPict.tif" error - can't start SilverFast

Hello,

I have a Mac PowerBook G4 running OSX 10.4.4. I just downloaded SilverFast SE for my Diamge Scan Dual IV. I installed it successfully and scanned two images. I clicked a button that brought up a dialog for scanning more than one frame (I cant double check what it's called at the moment as I can't get to that dialog) and the SilverFast application crashed. I relaunched the app and after I click Start, I get a dialog asking where to save a file called "BatchPict.tif." This causes an error telling me the file is corrupt. Each time I click Start, I get this error. My only option is Quit.

I have tried deleting all the SilverFast files including preferences and then reinstalling but I get the same message each time I try this.

Any advice?

Thank you,

John

I got the same error message with an Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 II
on Mac OS X 10.4.5 and 1st generation iMac G5 with Silverfast 6.4.3r9 Ai Demo.

However the Epson Perfection 4990 with Silverfast 6.4.3r9 Ai (which I purchased) works just fine.

Thanks

Gilles

(This problem only occurs on Mac)

For the 5400-II, please delete these folders:

Mac HD:/library/application support/ DS Elite 5400 2
Mac HD/users/<yourusernanme>/library/ preferences/DS Elite 5400 2

Then, run the SilverFast installer again. This will re-install the scanner drivers. The other Minolta scanners also have folders in these locations, referring to the scanners model name.
