Can't start with ScanPilot?

Friends - I'm using SilverFast 6.4.2.R9, Epson 4990 Scanner. When I start SilverFast by clicking the desktop icon, I get what I would call the 'main menu' (See image).
Has ScanPilot been discontinued? How do I start it? I'm trying to follow the handbook, step by step, and ScanPilot is not coming up as described on page 5

- Help appreciated, Bob

Dear Bob
what image?
I assume though, you mean the SF_Launcher coming up with "Choose plug-in folder" as the only option. This can occur for various reasons, luckily the "solution" is a quite simple one: You select exactly this option from the drop down menu and a new file requester window will appear. With it you can point the SilverFast launcher to the actual plugin. This is usually to be found in
Mac:
/Applications/SilverFast application
/Applications/Photoshop/Plug-ins/Import-Export
/Applications/Photoshop/Plug-ins/Import-Export/SilverFast(Scanner)
Win:
\Program files\LaserSoft\SilverFast(Scanner)
\Program files\Adobe\Photoshop\Plug-ins\Import-Export
\Program files\Adobe\Photoshop\Plug-ins\Import-Export\SilverFast(Scanner)
The SilverFast ScanPilot is still available. Look for the red plane icon on the vertical button bar of the preview window.
