No Preview window with SF SE PLUS

Hello,

I just upgraded (download version) from SF SE to SF SE PLUS. I have a Microtek i700 Scanner and run Windows XP. With the old version the preview window was there. I tried to prescan transparencies and even the scanner performs the scan, there is NO preview window showing up.
I am new with this software, any help is very much appreciated.

Dear chuithecat

the problem might be caused by an update which couldn't overwrite all older files. With preferences left over from an older version that are in incompatible format to the updated version, sometimes strange effects happen.

SilverFast usually should read the old prefs during an update install and transform them if the prefs format has been changed. But with certain file permissions set by the operating system this cannot always be done.

However, SilverFast does provide a set of secure settings.
If it does not find a "Prefs" folder when starting up, it generates a new one with these safe values.
Thus, please delete the Prefs folder (while SF isn't running) and check whether this does improve the situation.

On a typical Windows XP installation, the SilverFast "Prefs" folder is to be found at:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ (your username) \ Application Data \ LaserSoft Imaging \ SilverFast \

On a typical Mac OS X installation, the SilverFast "Prefs" folder is to be found at:
/ User / (your username) / Library / Preferences / LaserSoft Imaging / SilverFast /
