serialization - again

Postby Chester Czubko, Jr » Thu Mar 24, 2005 4:07 pm

SUPPORT, Please respond!!!

I've sent 2 e-mails to support and have not yet received a response with my serialization issue. I do not wish to use this forum for my particular problem, but desparately need some assistance. I have referred to other posts but can't seem to reslove my issue.

I have Silverfast Ai. After registering the serial number on the SilverFast web-site, and receiving confirmation that the software was 'registered/serialized', I downloaded version (6.4.1r4b). I now am unable to unlock the update and am forced to open it in demo version. I am logged onto my computer as the administrator, and have attempted to serialize via the "credits" window, but continue to receive a "serialize" button (there is no "upgrade" button available).

Appreciate your help and this great product!

Hello Chester Czubko Jr,

I believe the following information I received will help you resolve this issue. If the steps below do not make sense or you have a MAC then follow this link for more detailed instructions http://www.silverfast.com/show/update-serial/en.html

When you purchased the Ai Studio upgrade, you should have got a 30-digit serial number.

1. Please press the "i" button on the left side of the preview (the top most icon).
2. In the info dialog, press "Credits".
3. In the credits dialog, press "Upgrade".
4. Now please enter your name and the 30-digit serial number. Your name must be the same as the one you used when you purchased the Ai Studio upgrade online. Then press "Unlock SilverFast".

That should help.

Serializatin - again

Postby Chester Czubko, Jr » Thu Mar 24, 2005 8:24 pm

But - I did not purchase an upgrade.

I have Silverfast Ai 6, and registered it on the web-site using the 20 (twenty) digit serial number on the back of the box. The web-site then sent me to an area where I could download an upgrade (6.4.1r4b), which I did download.

I then attempted to do the 'serialization' as you suggest, via the "credits" window, having read a similar procedure in another 'post'. However, I do not get to a screen that has an "upgrade" button - the only 'button' available is a "serialize" button. So I end up right back where I started from!

Also unable to serialize (and no response from email query)

Postby cclauset » Mon Mar 28, 2005 4:06 pm

I'm in the same boat. I've sent support queries twice now (once on 3/7, and again today on 3/28) but have yet to receive an acknowledgement. My client has a legal copy of SilverFast Ai 6 (6.2.1r4) and is attempting to update to the 6.4.x release using the provided 20-digit serial number printed on the backside of the CD jewel case. When attempting to register with the provided serial number it just beeps and I am forced to enter demo mode to continue.

UPDATE: I received an updated serial number today that allows me to register.

Sorry you're having problems, Chester. I would be frustrated, too, under the circumstances. Here is a contact number from the Contact Us page:

serialization - again

Postby Chester Czubko, Jr » Tue Mar 29, 2005 6:18 pm

I consider it unacceptable that, after purchasing a vendors software product, registering it on the vendor's website, downloading an update per directions of the vendor, that I am then faced with a dilema where I am unable to fully access the software on my pc - AND THEN HAVE TO PAY THE VENDOR MORE $ TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM - A PROBLEM CREATED BY THE VENDOR.

That's like the proverbial story about the anti-virus software developer that intentionally plants a virus so as to make $ selling its anti-virus software.

I would expect LaserSoft to offer some type of resolution - but haven't heard a word yet from its support staff.

Again - who is monitoring this site????

Another serialization problem...

Postby Pedro Mendes » Thu Mar 31, 2005 9:58 pm

I bought the Silverfast HDR cross-update, but my 20 elements serial number is not recognized. I suspect I hafechosen perhaps the wrong link, but I'm a bit confused with all those options. To summarize:
-First,I upgraded from SE to Ai
-then I upgraded to HDR and here I have a serialization problem.
Can somebody help ?
Thank you very much.
Pedro

You will need to contact LaserSoft directly on that one. If I am not mistaken AI to HDR is not an upgrade because they are two different products.
