Serialization failed

To whom it may concern,

I just purchased SilverFast Ai for Mac OSX 10.3 on the web, downloaded and installed the software. There were no instructions as to how to initialize/serialize the softwware;
1) using Photoshop Elements 3's File-> Import -> Silverfast caused an empty dialog to freeze Photoshop
2) Using SF LAuncher caused it to freeze momentarily and then quit quietly
3) I finally did a "find" for all files created today and started clicking on SF... ones and finally one of them presented me with a dialog where I could enter my first and last names and the 6-part serial number that was assigned to me. I copied and pasted them EXACTLY as they were in the email confirmation. I get a dialog telling me to correct my First and last names. I try many different permutations and combinations, including copying and pasting what was sent to me. All with the same ugly result.
So I call the US numbers. The support number gives me a message telling me the office hours which include the time at which I'm calling, and then hangs up. I try the sales number and get a recorded message telling me that the office is closed until Jan 3rd.

TRULY MONSTEROUS EXAMPLES OF a PROFOUND ABSENCE OF SOFTWARE QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Purchased Silverfast Ai Studio for Mac 10.3.7/Minolta 5400/ identical problems. I am so pissed at a wasted day only to realize LaserSoft is is just that "soft!!" I have the identical problem, "correct my First and last names". none of the FAQ in the support files answers the problems although I did do the "Alt/Shift/s/f/ to delete previous preferences/serialization attempts..and there have been many today.I logged in at the 'root' level as suggested in the FAQ, but still just frustration and an ever growing hatred for all things LaserSoft..I have emailed twice but still no reply, I have given them till end of Business Monday 1/1/05 and then I'm calling my credit Card company to cancel/dispute the charges. assholes I've wasted a whole friggen day...

Just spoke to the Tech support and was told that a "e" version(current version is"c") will be available at this site under the downloads pull down menu late Tuesday. The tech support person was aware of the problem that OS-X users 10.3 were experiencing with the latest version of Ai Studio and the techies in Germany were fixing the problem.
I did have a email(response from an email I posted over the weekend) that
told me I had the SilverFast Ai Studio software that would work on my "iDisc" in the software folder. I tried to download this version but the instaler hung 3 times before I gave up. I emailed back and was told it was an older version of Ai that would work..it's not what I paid for and I was unable to download the software so I am hoping the "e" fix is real and that it is posted soon.
PS how was the LAserSoft techie able to post the older version in a read only iDisc public folder??

I'm not sure which version I have, but I downloaded SE 6.4 last week. Same problem as mentioned above. Serialisation is asking for first and last name. Still waiting for a reply to my inquiry to tech support.
