Microtek ScanWizard TX software and Silverfast

I have Mac OS 10.3.6.
I note that in a previous post a Silverfast user was advised not to install the Microtek Scanmaker software because of a compatibility issue with Silverfast. Does this also apply to the ScanWizard software for the Microtek ArtixScan tf?
In the case of my Epson 2450, it was required to install the Epson driver, but not the additional Epson software, before installing Silverfast as a Photoshop CS plugin. Silverfast works perfectly scanning directly into Photoshop CS.
I'm adding a second scanner, a Microtek ArtixScan 4000tf, which comes with Silverfast Ai 6, and would like to avoid installing any software superfluous to using a second Silverfast plugin to likewise scan directly into Photoshop CS.
I would greatly appreciate some counsel on what Microtek software I need to install, and where, to operate the ArtixScan with Silverfast as a Photoshop plugin. I would only have one scanner at time on.
