Runtime Error while installing

I'm trying to download and install Silverfast SE or Ai for my Epson
Expression 800 scanner. After I have downloaded either of the programs
when I double click on the exe file I get an error box that says" Runtime
Error (at -1:0): Cannot import
dll:C:\Windows\Temp\is-17mmv.tmp\PhotoshopLocator.dll" then has an OK
Button.
I have tried the trial versions of both SE and Ai with the same result.
Any and All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Danny

Dear dh114
actually you can only download a SilverFast
Ai demo version, and
update versions for SilverFast
Ai and
SE. If the latter are not serialize, they do run in a
demo mode, however. This might be the reason for this confusion.
As the files in question can be properly downloaded and started by many users (including myself) I suggest you try to use a download manager or another browser.
For my guess is that the files downloaded have been corrupted in the transfer somehow.
It is time for SilverFast to use md5 checksums to be able to check the integrity of downloads...

Thanks for your reply!
Ok, I was trying to download SE with Mozilla 1.4.1. So, I tried downloading SE with Internet Explorer 6.0 with the same results. Then I went back to Mozilla and changed the preferences so that it would use the download manager and the got the same error message.
I'm really interested in purchasing SE. I don't feel that I need all the functions that are available in Ai so don't want to spend the extra money for Ai now. How can I download SE so I can purchase it and use it right away? I have images that I need to scan.

Dear dh114
if you are interested in purchasing the
SE version of SilverFast, you want to go to store on our website.
You will get download access data after purchasing the software.
According your original error message I think this to be an error in the installer
instructions which should be rectified in future downloads.

LSI_Noack,
I did finally get it downloaded and installed. I also did purchase SE. It's working great!
I called and spoke with Kitten in FL and while she had me on hold I tried to download it again and noticed that a new release was being downloaded. It was approx 9.3 mb where what I was trying to download over the weekend was only 2.4 mb. So it appears that the file being downloaded wasn't all there or something.
Thanks,
Danny

Dear dh114
you are very welcome.
It good to read it all worked out fine for you
Download size is greater again, because we did use the "old" installer to generate the installation packages. This has nothing to do with something missing, trust me.
I would not be surprised if future updates decrease in filesize again.
Don't worry, enjoy scanning,
Sonny

Sonny,
I was just looking and noticed that there is a newer release of SE out already. Do you recommend downloading and installing each new release? If so, do I have to uninstall the version that I currently have and then install the new one, or do I just install the newer version over the one I currently have?
Thanks,
Danny

Dear Danny
having been a systems administrator for some years my battle cry runs along those lines "if it ain't broken, don't try fixing it".
Updates are for eliminating errors or introducing features badly needed.
Even then I always would hesitate to
update so that the "early adopters" have cleared the mine field already...
In short:
If you installation does what you want and runs smoothly - don't
update.
This is a real time saver
It might be of interest to you to learn that you can see what has been changed from one release to another right on our website:
"News" => "Product history"
Kind regards
Sonny
