LaserSoft Imaging

I had previously updated to SFE-6.0.2r31(MicroIT8), and yesterday downloaded the update package SFE-6.1.0r3(MicroIT8), dated 2003-09-17, on my G4 Mac OS X 10.2.6.

The upgrade/installation appeared to go fine, I was prompted to select which Photoshop version I wanted to install the plugin into etc. The installer installed an SF Launcher instead of the SF App I already had (but left the obsolete SF App untouched for some strange reason). However, the Photoshop plugin is still verson SFE-6.0.2!?

If I check for updates from within Silverfast ("i" then Web Update) it will say there is a new update, but it is precisely the one I already downloaded! Somehow that update never installs any 6.1 version of the plugin!?

I also searched my disks for the name "SilverFast (MicroIT8)" in case the installer erronously had put it elsewhere.

How shall I proceed to really get it properly updated?

If I explicitly DELETE the old plugin BEFORE update, then the installer will actually put the new 6.1 plugin in its place! So obviously, the installer is not tested, since it does not even do a version check of the existing file.

So far, things seem to work, although some of my previous settings are gone. But now I wonder what other things may have been done wrong by the installer? Are there other files I need to trash to get it up to date the way it was intended? Or reimport?
