Scanning very slow since installation of latest update

Since installing the latest update (which was offered when I switched on Silverfast about 3 weeks ago) Everything associated with Silverfast hs slowed down a lot. A single scan now takes 5 or more minutes (it was far quicker before this update was installed). I see that I am the first to make this comment so.... What did I do wrong, and why can I do to put it right, please?

Dear customer,

Please check your scratch and dust removal setting.
For some customers the SRDx option activated by itself.
We also solved that in our latest update.

Thanks. I hadn't heard that there's yet another a new update. I'll try clicking on your link, but I have to say that this experience has made me very wary of updates. Can't help thinking that I would have been better leaving them alone - my trust in your tech-bods has taken a knock!

Thank you. Turning off the dust-remover did solve the problem, so it was as simple as that. How embarrassing for me! Thanks for your help. . RT
