LaserSoft Imaging

I recently purchased a Epson V700 scanner, which came with Silverfast 8 on a cd.

My iMac hasn't got a cd drive, so I went onto the Silverfast website and typed in the serial number from my CD and got a new serial number emailed to me, with a link to download SIlverfast.

I had already downloaded Silverfast 8 from their website. It would not accept either serial numbers. When I entered them, the "unlock"button remained greyed out and un-clickable.

I then uninstalled the SIlverfast 8 I had downloaded, and used the link in the serial number exchange email to download Silverfast 6.

When I tried to install this download, I clicked through all the "agrees" and "continues" and at the last stage of the install got a message that the software couldn't be installed because there was no software found to install.

Any thoughts as to why my exchanged non-cd serial wouldn't be accepted by the Silverfast 8 I downloaded? Or why I was unable to install the Silverfast software download linked to me in the serial exchange email?

I'm running iOS 10.11 and I'm not sure if that has any relevance.
