Just paid by credit card for a serial number for SilverFast 6.0 Update (Adobe plug-in for Nikon 4000ED). But when I type the number in the Serialize dialog, it says "Please Insert your installation CD into the CD-ROM drive".

What installation CD?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Any suggestions?

SilverFast 6 Upgrade asking for CD

Since you have bought an upgrade to SilverFast 6, you are upgrading from SilverFast 5. In order to activate the upgrade, you have to have your SilverFast 5 CD in your CD drive.

I seem to have the same problem, but I did not buy an upgrade.

I purchased Silverfast SE 6 directly, without ever having had version 5.
Now the software keeps asking me for the Silverfast CD.

I do not have one.

Any ideas?

SilverFast SE is asking for CD

If SilverFast is aksing for a CD, you have received a bundle version which only comes on a CD, or you have downloaded the upgrade for bundle versions.

Please download your SilverFast SE from here and use your serial-number:

OK, thank you, I will try this download this evening.

What concerns me is that I do definitely not have a bundle version on a CD.
Neither have I downloaded an upgrade (at least not knowingly).

What I downloaded is a demo version of Silverfast SE (coming through the "Products" page).

Anyway, I'll let you know if the new download works.

Hello again,

I seem to be unable to download the right file:

My scanner is a MEDIAX FilmScan 1800.

What I downloaded first and what works perfectly in demo mode is the file SFTWE-6.0.1r19(1800-SE).exe

But this installation asks me for the CD, so it must be an update for a bundle version.

All the other files I tried either do not find my scanner or do not accept the serial number.

What can I do?
