Unable to install Demo v8.2

Postby Bundabah » Tue Jan 27, 2015 5:51 pm

Have Win7 64bit and using SF v 6.6.2r5.
Works fine.
Looking to upgrade to V8. (SF-8.2.0r3(Epson)_x64.exe) for Epson V700
Downloaded the demo to check it works.
On install, file unpacks 100% and then does nothing.....
The install sits in ram taking about 12% processor utilization.
An hour later it is still the same.
Have rebooted - warm and cold and it is still the same/
Any ideas?

Many thanks

Dear customer,

just saw you had this posted twice.
Here is may reply again.

Have you checked your security software?
SilverFast places several files in system folders.
Some security applications/Anti Virus programs can prevent this if set very strickt.
Sometimes there is not even a feedback on this.
Try temporarily disabling the security application for the installation.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Thank you Arne
Unfortunately no difference.
The strange thing is that the updated 64bit version 6.6 installed with no problems at all, and is working fine.
So I am not sure what this problem with 8.2 is.
I have also logged a ticket with their support dept - but no response yet.
Thanks again
John

Dear John,

SilverFast 6.6 is only a 32 Bit software.
There is no 64 bit version for this software generation.
Windows 7 64 will run it and the drivers in 32 bit mode.

But I have sent you an e-mail in the meantime.
Please check your spam folder in case you did not get it.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn
