Hi, I have a plustek film scanner, Opticfilm 7400 and have installed the cd onto my Mac (OS X 10.9.2) with Intel Core i7 processor.

When I open Silverfast Launcher and go to the scanner button it states 'press one of the buttons below to launch Silverfast UB' and
below it is a button with 'Silverfast (UScan-SE) (vers. 6.6.1r5)'

When I press this button nothing happens?

When I press Quit at the bottom nothing happens?

Hope you can help, I'm really keen to start scanning some old slides!

thanks
Marie

Dear Marie,

your version of SilverFast 6 unfortunately does not support the operating system you tried to install it in.
Please upgrade to the latest version of SilverFast 8.0 if you want to use it with this OS.

In case you purchased your device within the last three months this is a free upgrade which can be obtained from our website.

To learn pricing for an upgrade, please go to our website, follow the "Store" link, and proceed your purchase as if you'd wanted to buy a new product.

Please note the sentence next to the product selection: "If you already got a SilverFast product, you might be eligible for a discount price for a new version by clicking here."
Follow the instructions and keep the serial number for your current product ready to calculate the upgrade prices.

Thanks for your interest in our software products.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Thank you so much for your help, I have purchased the upgrade and am now able to scan my slides. I further question though, I received this notification from the purchase:

After activation, this demo serial number is valid for 30 days.
Note that files you create will have a permanent watermark embedded.
Please purchase a SilverFast license from our online shop in order to create files without an embedded watermark

Your LaserSoft Imaging Team

When using Silverfast on an old PC I never had the watermark on the images scanned - is this just present while I have the demo license and will be solved when my license is permanent in 30days? Or do I now need to purchase this? If so are you able to provide a link as I couldn't find it at your store?

many thanks
Marie

Dear Marie,

You need to exchange the serial number in the welcome screens' service dialog.
Use the "Upgrade license" button to enter the full serial you purchased.
Then the watermarks will no longer show.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
