xp installations problems

I have a new HP 522n CPU, with a Celeron 1.7g processer and 256meg of mem. When I try to install Silverfast from the down load I get the following error messages:

Extracting failed.cause by low mem or corrupted file cabinet.

1607: Unable to install Install shield scripting Runtime.

Lasersoft worked in the demo mode, but would not take my seriel number after purchase. As the directions stated, I unistalled the demo and tried to reinstall the download. I have tried every available "compatible" setting in XP but each time I get the above. I uninstalled my Primefilm 1800u, and reinstalled it, but still can't install lasersoft.

This is tring to work with HP's Arcsoft Impression software - is that the problem? When I installed the "demo" I also got similar messages, but was surprised to find that the silverfast was available. I was soo! impressed by what it did with my 50 year old slides, I bought it immediatly.

Should I just the CD and see how that installs?

I really want to make this work, any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Dera Robert,
did you download SilverFast Ai or SilverFast SE?

Did you experience similar problems when installing any other software?

I have downloaded the SE version of laser soft. Please let me know you recieved this, I am very new to the forum and i am not sure I am doing things correctly, so even if you just get this and it makes sense, please let me know that I am doing this correctly.

Thanks for your help!

Dear Robert,
so you downloaded SilverFast SE.
This is an online-purchase software, no CDs exists for this software!

NOTE: if you received a corresponding serial no. by E-mail, you must enter the name that you gave as "credit card holder" while you purchased the software.

If no success with it all, please send an e-mail to clovis.engelhardt@silverfast.com

Clovis.

Since Robert is getting errors from the installer and not from SilverFast, could it be that the file he downloaded is corrupt ? In that case you could send him a new one.
It could also be that the original file on our WEB site is corrupt. Could you please check that ?

Eric.

Today, I purchased the upgrade to my 5.5 that came with my Epson 2450.

It seems to have downloaded properly but while it is "Configuring Windows Installer" I get a 1607 message saying "Unable to install Installshield Scripting runtime."

Do you know what the problem is. I am running Windows XP.

Thanks,

Fred :(

I downloaded a fresh copy of 6.0 and it did install cleanly.

However, now I cannot register it with either the new serial number provided with my purchase of the upgrade or my old serial number that came with 5.5.

How can I solve this?

Thanks :(

Serial numbers for versions 5.x do not work for v6 plugins. The serial number, which you got when you purchased v6 should of course work.
Please send your v6 serial number and the plugin that you have downloaded to "eric.flyvbjerg@silverfast.com". I need the plugin to be sure that I use the same plugin as you do.
Please do not publish your serial number in this forum  .

Martin Leschke in your Florida office sent me a working serial number this morning without the need of sending him my plug-in.

Thanks for your help. :)
