New computer, no luck in installation

Hi
I upgraded my computer, running Windows 7 64 bit. I have a Plustek OpticFilm 7600i Ai scanner. My latest attempt was a complete uninstall of the scanner driver and Silverfast. Then re-installing the scanner software (latest version) from the Plustek web site. Then the latest Silverfast from the Silverfast site, re-booting at each stage just in case. Unfortunately I get the message that the scanner can not be found, check it is on and plugged in etc. The scanner was connected and the quick scan option on it works.
A log file was generated but this site won't allow it to be attached (txt is not allowed).
Many thanks for your help

Clive

Dear Clive,

Which version of SilverFast are you using?

SilverFast 6.6 would still be a 32 Bit software.
That requires the installation of the 32 bit driver.
You can find that in the driver package you can download from Plustek.
Only extract the 32 bit folder from that archive and execute the setup from within that.
It will first uninstall the present driver.
After the restart execute it again to install the 32 bit driver.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Dear Arne
I have taken the scanner software off my system, and gone back to the Plustek site - but there is only one download for all the operating systems and 32 or 64 bit. I then ran the installation software, and no option is given over choosing between 64 or 32 bit, so unfortunately I don't see how to do what is recommended - or should I change the Silverfast software to be compatible? (My last computer was also 64 bit and had no problems, but ran an earlier version of Windows).
Many thanks
Clive

Dear Clive,

The .zip file from Plustek contains two folders.
Please only extract the 32 Bit folder and execute the installation file from that folder.
Remember that you will have to run it twice.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Apologies for the delay, I have been away from home.
I am delighted to say it now seems to be working fine.
Many thanks for your help.
