Greetings!
Sadly, I couldn't find any helpful info on these exact versions of the software, so I had to create a new topic for my specific issue. The problem is: Silverfast Ai 6.6 doesn't automatically install the plug-in into the PSE 11 specific folder (I've also tried it with an Epson v750 bundled PSE 9 to no avail). Both of those programs are installed on drive D:, though I don't really think it causes the plug-in folder look-up failure. I've also tried creating shortcuts to SilverFast (Epson).8ba in "Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Elements 11 Organizer\locales\en_US\Plug-Ins\Import-Export" folder or placing the .8ba file there, but with no result in both Editor and Organizer (there are no new options in either "Get Photos and Videos" menu of Organizer — "From Scanner" still loads Epson Scan software — or "Import" menu of Editor). OS is Windows 7 64-bit and I've installed the SF as a "stand-alone/plug-in" version, of course.
Any advice would be really appreciated as using SF from within Photoshop Elements would really ease the color management and quicken the post-processing.
Thanks for your time,
Dmitriy.

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
Dear Dmitriy,
Photoshop Elements 11 unfortunately is not supported by SilverFast 6.
It only supports Elements up to version 9.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
thank you for the clarifications, Arne!
though I've got a couple of questions left, if you don't mind: does Silverfast 8 support PSE 11 then? I might consider getting an upgrade as I've already thought about trying the new version anyway. and if it doesn't, what would be the way to make Silverfast 6.6 work with PSE 9 on the described system? I couldn't make an import option for SF appear in PSE 9 either, alas.
kind regards,
Dmitriy.

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
Dear Dmitriy,
Photoshop Elements 11 unfortunately is not yet supported.
There is still an issue with the import module interface.
SilverFast 6.6 should work with Elements 9 without issues.
Normally you only need to install SilverFast after installing Photoshop and it will automatically be installed.
But you should use the latest update.
In case there is an issue regarding this the Plug-in can be installed manually.
The .8ba plugin file can be found in the SilverFast installation directory.
But do not move or copy it.
You need to create a shortcut for the file and move that into the Photoshop Import-Export folder.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
Thank you once again for all the useful info, Arne!
I've installed PSE 9 along with my newly bought PSE 11 to test the SF plug-in, but alas, it didn't work well this time, too. At first, the installation log of SF 6.6.2r5 doesn't look like the PSE 9 folder was found (it ends with: "Search: PS 7 - 11¶Search: PSE 1 - 8¶Search: PS 12 - 12¶Search: PSE 9 - 9¶Created uninstaller: D:\Program Files\SilverFast Application\SilverFast Epson\uninst.exe"). I followed your advice then and also looked for some further instructions in older threads to find this: interface-elements-with-se-t6412.html#p24876 . I did exactly what was supposed in the thread for PSE 8 — created a shortcut for SilverFast (Epson).8ba and placed it in the "D:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\Plug-Ins\Import-Export" directory, but still can't see anything under the PSE 9 "File -> Get Photos and Videos" menu, and the "From Scanner" option still leads to Epson Scan app. Is there any workaround for such a persistent issue? It's crucial for me to have a possibility to work with film scans straight from PSE, processing them with Organizer, so any working solution would be much, much appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Kind regards,
Dmitriy.
p.s. Could you also inform me, please, if there are any plans to implement PSE 11 support in newer versions of SF 8?

Dear Dmitriy,
That is strange.
What you did seems to be correct.
But the shortcut must be placed in the Elements import-export folder.
Not the one of the Organizer.
However on some Photoshop versions the shortcut must be placed in
.../locals/xx_xx/Plug-ins/import-export/
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
Ok, so it obviously was my fault and sorta wishful thinking as I was using the "Organizer" folder, not the general PSE one. The plug-in functions now, being installed in a "locales" plug-in folder, though it's accessible only via PSE Editor and the "Get Photos -> From Scanner" menu of the PSE Organizer still loads Epson Scan software and there's no other option for Silverfast. So here's the last question on my issue — is it possible to access the SF plug-in from Organizer menu? The whole idea was to, well, organize the scans easily from within the PSE to comfortably browse through the different versions — raw and edited — of the photos, sort them by albums, date etc..
Best regards,
Dmitriy.

Dear Dmitriy,
So far the plug-in only has been developed for photoshop import.
I can not say in which way the organizer works differently.
I will forward your request to our product management.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
Hi I have just got round to upgrade Silverfast se 6.6 or2 [/b]to the latest ver. At the same time I have installed Photoshop Elements 11. Browsing through the forum I note that Silverfast 6.6 does not have a plugin / support for Photoshop Elements 11. I don't have an earlier ver. Could you please advise.
Thanks
Thanks

Dear customer,
With this combination you will have to save images to disk and open them from there using Photoshop.
Only SilverFast 8.0 supports this version of elements.
Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
Hi again,
I have had look at Ver8 but I see that it does support Windows 7 64 bit, only 32 bit. Is this a problem and what are the consequences of this? Will there be an up grade made available?
Thank you

Re: Silverfast Ai 6.6 Plug-in for PSE 11
Dear customer,
If SilverFast 8 only supports 32 bit on Windows 7 64 this means that currently no 64 bit drivers are available from the device manufacturer.
This should not cause any troubles.
But please test our demo version to be sure.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
