Registration Dialog message remains

When starting I always get the...
"This is the registration Page, Currently loading content from the internet... If this message remains there is a problem with the internet connection and/or firewall setting"

I end up having to select the "Skip Registration" button.

The program appears to open correctly, (haven't tried the scanner yet) would like to correct this problem first...

As I am typing this message I clearly don't have a problem with the internet and the firewall is switched off.
I installed version 8 and are running Mac 10.8.2, I figured it must be a version problem so I download the latest update 8.0.1r19
(I obviously had to register online to get the update, so not sure what the program is looking for when it hangs when I try again)

Tell me (New to mac) how do I install this update?
Does it get installed on top of the existing install or do you have to uninstall version 8 first or part of it? as this update is a lot smaller than what the original install was indicating it needed (around 700+mb)

Are there instructions anywhere about installing updates?
How does this affect your serialisation?

Cheers

Dear customer,

You can savely skip the registration.
There is also a checkbox in the lower left which allows you to disable that screen.
If you haven't registered yet you can also do that online.

kind regards,

Can you assist with the second part of my question on how to correctly install the downloaded update on the Apple Mac?
Or point me to an instruction page / video how-to.

Thanks

Dear customer,

You simply install the update.
That is all.
There are no further steps necessary.
